Fraser Downs Picks – December 5, 2024

Harness racing continues at Fraser Downs on Thursday night with a seven-dash card. There is only Pick 4 kicking off in the fourth race that runs till the end of the card.

The headline race of the evening is the $10,000 Filly & Mare Preferred which takes place in the third. A field of five top-pacing mares on the ground will compete for bragging rights.

Grey Sea (Custard The Dragon) heads into the day as the 6-5 morning line favourite. She had won three in a row before finishing third her last time out. The five-year-old mare has already scored eight times this year and adding a couple more this month will give her a new season high. Gordon Abbott trains Grey Sea and John Abbott will be in the bike.

In High Cotton (Somebeachsomewhere) has been runner-up in back-to-back races, just finishing behind Outlaw Spiced Rum who doesn’t line up Thursday night. The Kelly Hoerdt-trained mare has visited the winner’s circle seven times already this year. The six-year-old mare has been given 2-1 morning line odds.
