Cal Expo Picks – January 31, 2025

Cal Expo is set to host a eight dash card Friday evening with the $16,200 Steve Wiseman Memorial Final as the main event. A full field of ten will lineup in the fifth race in the spotlight. The 8-5 morning line, Sign Of The Times (Special Forces) finished second in the elimination which snapped a five race win streak. The five-year-old gelding achieved a new lifetime mark of 1:55.4 during his hot streak and might need a similar performance to win Friday night.

What Cheer (Marced Card) out bested Sign OF The Times in the elimination by just over a length and posted a mile time of 1:56.4. The six-year-old mare picked up her 10th career win in what was her 100th lifetime start. The other elimination winner, Alien Art Form (Outrageous Art)won in a slightly slow 1:57.3 but the four-year-old gelding draws the rail in the finals.
