The Loop Picks – Sep. 27, 2025 – SUPER SATURDAY
The Loop has a 10-dash card featuring THREE Stake races for a Super Saturday card.
Three Things to Know This Saturday
Golden Boy Stake (Race 1)
Van Goghing Fast enters as the clear favorite with five wins and a sharp lifetime mark of 1:57.2. Fillion’s self-trained gelding has the class edge and tactical versatility to control the pace or pounce late.
Wednttalkboutbruno and Austins Bud are both consistent check-getters, with Wednttalkboutbruno showing a knack for hitting the board (7 of 8 starts) and Austins Bud boasting four runner-up finishes.
Crimson Case is winless in 2025 but has shown flashes of potential. With Cory Manning aboard, this one could surprise if the pace collapses.
Van Goghing Fast is the one to beat, but don’t sleep on especially Wednttalkboutbruno, who’s quietly building a solid résumé. Austins Bud could be the value play if Michel Rey finds a pocket trip
Silk Lace Stake Final (Race 5)
Pipers Luna is the filly to fear. She’s won 6 of 7 starts and set the track record for three-year-old fillies with a sizzling 1:58.3. Dean Rey will likely look to control the tempo early.
Stefs Inheritance is quietly consistent, hitting the board in 7 of 9 starts. Paula Mason’s driving style could set her up for a late rally.
Smoknintheboysroom has yet to win but has five runner-up finishes. Fillion’s filly is overdue and could capitalize if Piper Luna faces pressure.
Girl On The Go and Pictureperfectime are longshots on paper but both have shown flashes. If the pace melts down, they could sneak into the exotics.
Pipers Luna is the clear top pick, but Stefs Inheritance offers value and upside. Smoknintheboysroom is a live underneath play, while the Mason duo could surprise if the race gets tactical.
Open (Race 8)
Nonversation is the class mare with eight wins and a gritty résumé. She’s versatile and battle-tested, and Remillard knows how to time her kick.
Ginger Tree Finny is the gelding with momentum—8 wins in 17 starts and a sharp 3-1 morning line. Michel Rey’s driving style suits Ginger Tree Finny’s stalking ability.
Outlaw Spiced Rum owns the fastest lifetime mark at 1:52.4, but has struggled to convert speed into wins. If Rogers can find a trip, Outlaw Spiced Rum could spice up the exotics.
Controlthedistance and Tami Blue are both mares with upside—each has shown flashes and could capitalize if the leaders burn early.
Appoggiatura and Two Shoes round out the field with modest records but decent board-hitting consistency. Both are longshots with potential if chaos unfolds.
Nonversation is the proven commodity, but Ginger Tree Finny has the edge in current form. Outlaw Spiced Rum is the wildcard with raw speed, while Controlthedistance could be the sleeper if Mason works out a trip.
