The 2025 Westie Awards: Celebrating Western Canada’s Best in Harness Racing
The Westie Awards return in 2025 with a renewed focus on honouring the best of Western Canadian harness racing. From standout performances to meaningful contributions that elevate racing culture, the Westies highlight excellence across all areas of the industry.
The Western Canadian racing community has long been defined by its gritty determination, competitive spirit, and passion for horses. The Westie Awards recognize the individuals and equine stars who embody those qualities and showcase the exceptional talent that continues to emerge from the western provinces. Categories span a wide range of roles, acknowledging the accomplishments of drivers, trainers, owners, and horses, and highlighting the dynamic ecosystem that supports racing success.
“The Westie Awards are more than trophies as we’re celebrating the impact, dedication, and passion that fuel this sport,” said Trey Colbeck, The Western Pacer Founder & CEO. “Western Canada may have a smaller footprint on the national stage, but our people and horses continue to make a significant mark.”
