2026 Alberta Harness Racing Schedule
With the 2025 season nearly complete and only a handful of race dates remaining at Century Mile, the full 2026 Alberta Harness Racing schedule has been released. There are several notable points for fans and horsepeople to take note of as the calendar turns.
Century Mile Winter Meet
The Century Mile Winter Meet will extend into January, with five days of racing scheduled on Saturdays only. The final card of the meet is set for January 31, 2026.
No February Racing
With the Century Mile meet concluding at the end of January, there is no harness racing scheduled anywhere in Alberta during the month of February.
March Racing at Track On 2
One of the biggest highlights of the 2026 schedule is the return of March racing at Track On 2. Lacombe will host eight race days, all on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning March 7 and wrapping up on March 29. Post time is listed at 1:10 p.m. local Mountain Time (3:10 p.m. Eastern).
Back “Down” to Calgary (Balzac)
Harness racing returns to Balzac on April 4, as Century Downs opens its 2026 meet. Racing will be held on Fridays and Saturdays throughout April and May. Beginning June 3, Wednesday night racing will be added to the schedule and will continue through July 15. The Century Downs meet runs until August 29. Weekday post time is set for 6:35 p.m. Mountain (8:35 p.m. Eastern) while weekend post time is 12:45 p.m. Mountain (2:45 p.m. Eastern).
Back to Track On 2
Following the final Wednesday card at Century Downs, the third day of racing shifts back to Track On 2. Starting July 19, Lacombe will host Sunday-only racing through August 30.
September brings a unique schedule, as Century Downs concludes and Century Mile does not begin until later in the month. Track On 2 will host racing Saturday, Sunday, and Monday on Labour Day weekend, followed by Saturday and Sunday cards on September 12 and 13. The Lacombe meet wraps up with a special Wednesday card on September 16.
Down the Stretch at Century Mile
There won’t be a long wait for racing to return to Century Mile, with the fall meet beginning September 23. Racing will be held three days per week (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) through September and October. During the final three months of 2026, racing will be limited to Fridays and Saturdays, with the exception of the traditional New Year’s Eve card.
